River tourism

Located at one day’s sail from the sea ports of Antwerp and Dunkerke.
Accessible via the Meuse and the Sambre.
At the heart of the east-west and north-south waterway links.

Namur, with its beautiful Citadelle, is located on an exceptional historic site where the Meuse and the Sambre meet, and considers river tourism to be a vital part of its everyday life. As proof and recognition of its commitment in this field, the Port autonome de Namur received the Francis Laloux prize for its commendable efforts in the domain of river tourism.

With three marinas and one nautical stopover, the Port autonome de Namur aims to provide recreational sailors with the most comfortable facilities possible. These facilities, built and managed by the port, complement each other and are accessible to all.

  • Henri Hallet Marina :
Situated in the city centre, at the foot of the Citadelle and the Casino, the marina allows short stays for tourism purposes and to sample the local cuisine. (find out more)
  • Amée Marina :
Upriver from the city, located at the edge of a park equipped with sport and leisure facilities, it is ideal for longer stays. (find out more)
  • Beez Marina :

Different types of facilities are accessible to recreational sailors :

  • The river stops  have the capacity to moor several boats for a maximum of several hours, near sites of touristic or historical interest and urban centres offering different services (shops, restaurants, etc..). You can stop at Hastière, Freyr, Dinant (Casino), Anhée, Profondeville and Andenne.
  • The nautical stopovers enable boats to be moored for several days, and have all the necessary connections (water, electricity), sanitary facilities and parking. You will find them in Dinant (quay), Yvoir (island) and Lives (old lock).
  • The marinas can accommodate boats for a stay of several days or for longer term stays with complete sanitary facilities, reception rooms (harbour master’s office), boat surveillance, the possibility of obtaining fresh supplies and repairs, and wintering can also be arranged. They are located at Waulsort, Anseremme, Dinant and Namur (Jambes, Amée and Beez).

During the river tourism season, from 15/04 to 15/10, there is always someone on duty at the Harbour master’s office.
The emphasis is on a warm welcome and on high quality, sustainable development of the environment. We particularly encourage our visitors to visit local sites of touristic interest and discover local products and activities.
